Ethical Sourcing & Supplier Policy

Kindred Crystal Collective | Ethical Sourcing & Supplier Policy

At Kindred Crystal Co, we believe every crystal has a story. Beyond its natural beauty, each piece represents the people, families and communities who have carefully mined, crafted or created it. We believe those people deserve to be treated with respect, fairness and dignity.

While no global supply chain can ever claim to be perfect, we are committed to working with trusted suppliers who share our values of integrity, quality and long-term relationships.

Our Supplier Network

For more than 20 years, our business has partnered with a small group of trusted, family-owned suppliers around the world. Since Kimberley took ownership of the business, these long-standing relationships have continued to grow through regular communication and personal visits.

Rather than purchasing through anonymous trading platforms or constantly changing wholesalers, we have chosen to build lasting partnerships with businesses we know personally and trust.

Today, we source primarily through five key family-owned suppliers located in:

  • Brazil

  • Peru

  • Morocco

  • India

  • China

Kimberley regularly travels overseas to visit each supplier in person, strengthening these relationships and gaining a deeper understanding of their operations, craftsmanship and local communities. These are partnerships built over many years, not one-off transactions.

Our Products

Our suppliers are specialists in the materials and craftsmanship unique to their regions, including:

  • Brazil – Amethyst, Pink Amethyst, Quartz varieties and a wide range of Brazilian minerals and crystals.

  • Peru – Palo Santo, Pyrite, Rhodonite and other Peruvian minerals.

  • Morocco – Selenite and Moroccan mineral specimens.

  • China – Hand-carved crystal pieces produced by highly skilled artisans.

  • India – Handcrafted ceramics, selected crystals and artisan-made products.

Wherever possible, we source products from the countries where these natural materials originate, supporting local expertise and traditional craftsmanship.

Our Commitment

When selecting suppliers, we look for businesses that demonstrate:

  • Long-standing family ownership and stable operations.

  • Fair and respectful treatment of their employees and artisans.

  • Safe and appropriate working environments.

  • Responsible mining and manufacturing practices wherever possible.

  • Transparency regarding the country of origin of their products.

  • Exceptional craftsmanship and quality over mass production.

We value relationships over price and intentionally work with a small number of trusted suppliers whose values align with our own.

Environmental Considerations

Crystals, minerals and natural materials are treasures of the Earth, and we recognise the responsibility that comes with sourcing them thoughtfully.

Mining and manufacturing naturally have an environmental impact. While we acknowledge no supply chain is without its footprint, we believe meaningful progress comes from making considered, long-term choices.

Where practical, we aim to:

  • Build lasting relationships with trusted suppliers rather than frequently changing manufacturers.

  • Source natural materials directly from their country of origin wherever possible.

  • Consolidate international shipments to reduce unnecessary freight.

  • Minimise excess packaging while ensuring products arrive safely.

  • Offer high-quality pieces designed to be treasured, collected and enjoyed for many years rather than treated as disposable products.

We recognise that responsible sourcing is an ongoing journey, and we remain committed to learning, asking questions and continually improving wherever possible.

Looking Ahead

Ethical sourcing is not a destination. It is an ongoing commitment.

We continue to visit our suppliers, strengthen our relationships, and deepen our understanding of how our products are mined, carved and produced. By working directly with a small number of trusted family businesses, we hope to support responsible practices while offering our customers confidence in the origin, quality and craftsmanship of every piece we sell.

We believe every crystal carries a story, not only from the Earth, but from the people whose knowledge, craftsmanship and dedication bring it to life. Supporting those communities through long-term, respectful partnerships is something we are proud to continue.

If you have any questions about the origin of a particular product, we are always happy to provide further information wherever possible.
