Rutilated Quartz 2-3cm
Naturally tumbled Rutilated Quartz in a 2–3cm size, displaying a clear to lightly smoky quartz base with distinctive golden to copper-toned rutile needle inclusions running through the stone. Each piece varies in the density and direction of the rutile threads, making every stone visually unique. A striking choice for crystal collections, display bowls, and decorative styling.
Rutilated Quartz is a variety of Quartz (silicon dioxide) containing needle-like inclusions of Rutile (titanium dioxide). The rutile forms during crystal growth, becoming permanently enclosed within the quartz as it solidifies. Rutile needles range in colour from bright gold to copper, silver, or reddish-brown depending on the iron content of the titanium dioxide. The quartz host is typically clear to lightly smoky in tone.
