Goldstone Green Tumbled 1.5 - 2cm

Tumbled Green Goldstone in a 1.5–2cm size, displaying a deep forest green to near-black glass body with a distinctive metallic sparkle from suspended copper particles throughout. Each piece has a high-gloss polish and varies slightly in tone and the intensity of the sparkle effect. A popular choice for crystal collections, display bowls, and decorative styling.

Goldstone is a man-made glass, not a naturally occurring mineral. It is produced by melting silica glass with copper oxide under controlled reducing conditions, which causes metallic copper crystals to precipitate and suspend within the glass as it cools. The result is a dense, glittery glass with a characteristic metallic shimmer. Green Goldstone gets its colour from the combination of the copper particles and the addition of chromium or other colourants to the glass batch. Also known as aventurine glass, it has been produced in Venice since at least the 17th century.
