Selenite Tumbled 3 - 3.5cm
Naturally tumbled Selenite in a larger 3–3.5cm size, displaying a translucent to opaque white body with a smooth, polished finish and visible parallel striation lines characteristic of the gypsum crystal structure. Each piece has a soft, silky lustre and varies slightly in shape and opacity. A popular choice for crystal collections, display bowls, and decorative styling.
Selenite is a variety of gypsum (calcium sulphate dihydrate) that forms in long, striated crystals in evaporite deposits — sedimentary environments where water has evaporated and left behind dissolved minerals. The name derives from Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, referencing the stone's soft, luminous appearance. Major sources include Mexico, Morocco, and the United States. As a soft mineral (Mohs 2), Selenite should be kept dry and handled with care to avoid scratching.
