Blue Onyx Tumbled 2-3cm
Naturally tumbled Blue Onyx in a 2–3cm size, displaying a soft seafoam green-blue to pale grey-blue body with a waxy, translucent finish and subtle banding visible on some pieces. Each stone varies slightly in tone and the visibility of the banding. A calming, cool-toned stone that works beautifully in display bowls and crystal collections.
Blue Onyx as sold commercially is a variety of banded chalcedony (microcrystalline silicon dioxide) that has been colour treated to achieve its distinctive blue-green tone — a standard and widely accepted practice in the gem trade. The treatment is stable and does not affect the stone’s durability. Onyx and chalcedony form within the cavities of volcanic rocks and are found worldwide.
In crystal traditions, Blue Onyx is often associated with calm, clear communication, and emotional steadiness. Many people find it a helpful stone for easing anxiety, maintaining focus, and supporting honest expression — qualities that have long connected it to the Throat Chakra in crystal practice.
