Red Tiger Eye Tumbled Stones are a bold and energising stone — each piece displaying the characteristic deep red-brown tones with the silky, shifting chatoyance (cat’s eye effect) that makes Tiger Eye immediately recognisable as the stone moves in the light. Red Tiger Eye is a variety of Tiger Eye — a fibrous form of quartz with silky lustre caused by the parallel intergrowth of quartz crystals replacing crocidolite fibres. The red colouration is achieved through gentle heat treatment of golden Tiger Eye, which oxidises the iron content and produces the warm, deep red-brown tones. Tiger Eye is found primarily in South Africa, Australia, and India.
