Mookaite Tumbled 1.5cm - 2cm
Naturally tumbled Mookaite in a 1.5–2cm size, displaying a rich earthy palette of deep burgundy, mustard yellow, cream, and olive green tones with a smooth, high-gloss finish. Each piece varies in colour combination and patterning — some stones lean heavily into one colour, while others show striking multi-tone banding. A distinctly Australian stone and a favourite among collectors for its bold, warm colouring.
Mookaite is an Australian sedimentary rock — a silicified radiolarite formed from the skeletal remains of microscopic marine organisms called radiolarians, deposited in ancient shallow seas. It is found exclusively in the Kennedy Ranges of Western Australia, near Mooka Creek, from which it takes its name. The vivid range of colours is entirely natural, the result of iron oxide and other mineral pigments within the sedimentary matrix.
Mookaite is traditionally associated with motivation, decisiveness, and a grounded sense of purpose. Many people who work with it find it a helpful companion when facing procrastination or seeking clarity on a path forward. It is often connected to the earth element and the Solar Plexus Chakra in crystal traditions.
