Hematite Tumbled 1.5-2cm
Naturally tumbled Hematite in a 1.5–2cm size, displaying a deep metallic silver-grey body with a high-mirror polish and characteristic heavy weight for its size. Each piece varies slightly in shape and surface reflectivity. A popular choice for crystal collections, display bowls, and decorative styling.
Hematite is an iron oxide mineral (Fe₂O₃) and one of the most abundant iron-bearing minerals on Earth. Its name derives from the Greek word for blood — haima — referencing the distinctive reddish-brown streak it leaves when scratched across an unglazed surface, despite its metallic grey appearance when polished. Hematite has been used by humans for tens of thousands of years as a pigment (red ochre) and is a primary ore of iron. It forms in sedimentary, metamorphic, and hydrothermal environments worldwide.
