Blue Tiger Eye Tumbled
Naturally tumbled Blue Tiger Eye in two size options — 2–2.5cm and 2.5–3cm — displaying a deep navy to dark blue-grey body with a silky, chatoyant sheen and subtle golden-brown fibrous banding visible on some pieces. Each stone varies in the intensity of the blue tone and the visibility of the characteristic chatoyancy. A striking and sought-after stone for crystal collections and display.
Blue Tiger Eye — also known as Hawk’s Eye — is a variety of quartz that forms through the pseudomorphic replacement of crocidolite (blue asbestos) fibres by silica. Unlike the more common golden Tiger Eye, which has been subjected to oxidation of the iron within the fibres, Blue Tiger Eye retains its original blue-grey colouring, making it the natural, unaltered form of the mineral. The distinctive chatoyancy — the silky, moving light effect — is caused by the parallel arrangement of the fibrous inclusions within the quartz. Major sources include South Africa and Australia.
In crystal traditions, Blue Tiger Eye is often associated with calm focus, clear perception, and inner strength. Many people find it a grounding yet clarifying stone — one that is said to help quiet an overactive mind while sharpening intuition. It is often connected to both the Third Eye and Throat Chakras in crystal practice.
