Chrysocolla Rough features the stone’s signature rich teal-blue and blue-green tones in natural, unpolished form. Most commonly found in arid regions such as Arizona in the United States, Chrysocolla forms in the oxidation zones of copper ore deposits — its striking colour a direct result of its copper-rich composition.

The name chrysocolla comes from the Ancient Greek χρυσός (khrusós) and κολλα (kolla), meaning “gold” and “glue” — historically used to describe materials for soldering gold.
