Sardonyx Tumble
Polished Sardonyx tumbled stones with a high-gloss finish and a wide natural colour range. Sardonyx is a banded variety of Onyx (Chalcedony) featuring alternating layers of Sard (warm red-brown to amber) and white, grey, or black Onyx bands. This batch displays significant colour variation between pieces — ranging from deep red-brown and near-black through to amber-yellow, grey, cream, and mottled green-grey. Each stone is unique. Sold per stone, approximately 2–3cm.
Sardonyx has been used as a gemstone and carving material since antiquity, prized for its bold banding and warm earthy tones. It is a microcrystalline Quartz (Chalcedony) variety, with the red-brown colour caused by iron oxide inclusions.
