Snowflake Obsidian Tumbled 2.5–3cm
Snowflake Obsidian Tumbled Stones are a beautifully patterned natural glass — each piece of deep, lustrous black obsidian marked with distinctive white snowflake-like clusters of cristobalite that form naturally as the volcanic glass slowly cools. Smooth and polished, pieces in this lot range from 2.5–3cm.
Obsidian is formed when silica-rich lava cools rapidly, creating a natural volcanic glass. Snowflake Obsidian develops its characteristic white markings when cristobalite — a form of quartz — crystallises within the obsidian matrix, creating the snowflake or flower-like patterns unique to this variety. It is found in volcanic regions worldwide.
In crystal traditions, Snowflake Obsidian is associated with grounding, clarity, and the gentle release of unhelpful patterns — a balancing stone said to bring a calm, centred awareness to habitual thoughts or behaviours, and to support honest, steady self-reflection.
Each piece varies naturally in the size and distribution of its snowflake markings.
