Azurite Malachite Tumbled 3cm
Naturally tumbled Azurite Malachite in a 3cm size, displaying a rich combination of deep cobalt blue azurite and vivid green malachite swirling together within a single polished stone. Each piece varies in the balance of blue and green tones and the distribution of patterning, making every stone visually unique. A striking choice for crystal collections, display bowls, and decorative styling.
Azurite is a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral (Cu₃(CO₃)₂(OH)₂) known for its intense deep blue colouring, formed through the weathering of copper ore deposits. Malachite is a related copper carbonate hydroxide mineral (Cu₂CO₃(OH)₂) distinguished by its vivid green banding. The two minerals frequently occur together in the oxidised zones of copper deposits, creating the characteristic blue-green combination seen in these specimens. Major sources include the Democratic Republic of Congo, Morocco, and Australia.
